Early contractions?

I have been having cramping on and off pretty frequently for the past hour now and am only 24 weeks. Sometimes my stomach is actually tight if I press on it other times it is just on one side. I have tried changing positions and have been laying down but I am still feeling the pain. Is this just Braxton hicks or do these sound like contractions?

Answer

Try drinking a few large glasses of water and lay down to see if it stops. Could be Braxton hicks but if they are frequent I would call OB.  A UTI can send you into premature labor with contractions and dehydration can also make you contract. Try some water and lay down then go from there. Hope they stop!
