Cloth diapers?

Question

Anyone else using cloth diapers? 
I'd like some tips and advice! And info on where to purchase online. I get the basic idea but I was looking at one site (Kelly's Closet) and there are so many options and it was so confusing! I'm determined to go with cloth diapers though. Help would be appreciated :)

I've been cloth diapering for over three years now. My suggestion is try a variety of brands. Each brand has a different fit just like clothes, so certain brands might work for you some won't. I personally love simplex, thirsties, and Bg elementals. You name it I've tried it. There's no shame in buying used either. I use tide powder, I tried the other stuff it didn't work for us. The natural detergents didn't get the diapers clean and caused burns on my baby's tush.

We live the bumgenius flip covers with inserts. I use newborn disposables the first week or two then switch them to the cloth and use that until potty trained :)

We are and I've gotten a lot of advice from my friends who have cloth diapered for a year or two...there is so much to it it's hard to answer such a broad question. Id say dive into all the blogs and online information you can till you start to get a good idea of what you want to do there are so many options. If you have any specific questions I can try an answer :). Per advice and personal research we are trying rumparooz and thirsties covers with prefolds for the first couple months(all my CD moms suggested prefolds and covers when they are little) then alva and sunbaby pockets for when they get bigger and figure once we try all those brands pick the ones we like and stock up a bit more.

We used softbums with our first and liked them. I kept them and will use them again when this baby arrives. I like that the shells can be used again and they are daddy friendly.  Plus the are one size. So they grow with your child.
