Club feet!?!

Question

Went in for an ultrasound today and the dr was concerned that the baby might have club feet but said they couldn't get a clear enough picture to be sure so they're sending me in for more ultra sounds in 2 weeks. In the mean time I'm a ball of nerves reading info about it being an indicator of possible spina Bifida or celebral palsy. Does anyone have any experience with this?? Thankyou in advance for sharing!

We are expecting a club foot baby! It was definately not a fun thing to find out, but the ultrasound techs and Drs. Do a great job at knowing if it is linking to Spina bifidia, we are very thankful that ours is not.

Try not to worry too much, but also so your homework. My hubs and I have done a ton of research on the subject. (Mostly my husband I shouldn't take as much credit 😉) We are going to be using the Ponseti Method with is a fairly uninvasive method and doesn't require any major surgery.

Today is actually World Club Foot so if you take a look around on Facebook for Instagram you'll see some pretty cool stuff. Keep your head high and be thankful for the precious little babe you're going to have. I'll say my prayers!

My friends little boy was born with two club feet. He had loads of treatment and at 9 yo has just been signed for a famous UK football club (juniors). Lovely family.

My friends son had severe club feet. Other than that he is extremely healthy and smart. He did have to have surgery, etc to correct.

I am an educator in early intervention which is a program available in most states that works with infants and toddlers from as early as the day they get home from the hospital until they turn 3 years old. These infants and toddlers have developmental delays of all kinds that impact their ability to meet their developmental milestones. It's my job to work with families and children to develop strategies together to ensure that these children develop as appropriately as they can which of course is individual to every child. Several of the families I work with have a child with club foot since this diagnosis can impact a child's ability to meet many of their gross motor milestones while the foot or feet are corrected. It is a process but I would suggest looking into early intervention in your state so that you can have an early intervention physical therapist assist you and your child along the way so your child's diagnosis doesn't impact their gross motor milestones. My son who turns 4 on the 13 was born with a club foot and he is an amazing smart boii no other problem and everything was fixed b4 he started walking u wouldn't even be able to tell he had  one without me me toning it so everything will b ok
