Diaper pail: yes or no?

I've read reviews and they don't actually block the smell apparently. Plus I just know my husband would gag at having to take all the diapers out at once (poor thing has a very weak stomach). I'm thinking no just based on it not being a necessity and taking up space, but my husband has his mind set on getting one as to block out odor in our house. What are your thoughts and experiences with a diaper pail? Positive and negative reviews on them are welcome.
