Braxton hicks

Has anyone experienced these this early on?? Woke up this morning around 4am with some pretty intense cramps starting around my lower rib cage, all down my sides & up my back. My tummy felt really tight and I thought I felt like I was going to be sick but it was still different than a normal stomach ache. I am a FTM so I don't know what all this is supposed to feel like. I am feeling quite a bit of indigestion now so could it just have been trapped gas or something??
