i might have it at 39 weeks if labor don not start naturally... i'm just 36 weeks but i'm a little nerveous

It can be safe if your cervix is ripe, and only pitocin is used for the induction. Pitocin itself has a half life of only a minute in the system, which means it can be stopped very quickly at the sign of any trouble. The biggest danger is Cervadil, which is the gel used to ripen the cervix. Not very many providers will attempt an induction on a VBAC patient unless they are very confident it will be safe. You will probably also have additional rules for monitoring and movement during labor. That being said, you still have time to get things going naturally! You can try seeing a chiropractor trained in the Webster maneuver, taking evening primrose oil (orally or as a suppository), taking walks, and/or having sex. Stimulating nipples with a breast pump also helps some women encourage later. However, don't try too hard to encourage labor until week 39, and definitely run your plans by your healthcare provider to ensure it's safe for you.

I was induced with my 2nd VBAC, not a common practice, but it is safe. I was just given a mild pitocin induction and it worked out beautifully! Good luck.

My understanding and what my doctor is willing to do is a Foley Bulb Catheter. After that I will consider low pitocin which my doctor is fine with, but the pitocin can cause fetal distress which can cause an emergency csection. So with a VBAC it's best to wait as long as possible and avoid interventions which can lead to a csection. Good luck!!

I was induced due to low amniotic fluid and I had a successful vbac. I was also constantly monitored by my nurse and they didn't increase the pitocin as they would with a regular induction since they knew I was trying for a vbac.

I wouldn't do any medical inductions if hoping for a VBAC. Pitocin makes contractions a lot harder/stronger and your body doesn't get the breaks inbetween contractions. You can go to 41-42 weeks safely. If you really have to be induced try a membrane sweep first and then move on to rupturing your membranes. Medical induction should be an absolute last resort.

Non-medicine induction is safer, pitocin use is a back burner option. 39 weeks is not long enough. That is a tactic of a VBAC-tolerant provider. You can safely go to 42 weeks as long as your placenta is healthy ( can be checked through BPP ultrasounds). Membrane sweeps are an option, as well as Foley bulb induction. The use of pitocin is not indicated because of the higher risk of repeat ceserean.

I've had 3 successful VBACs and my midwife did not discuss induction until after 41 weeks. My VBACs were all spontaneous labor, at 40+0, 40+4, and 39+5. Waiting to see what Little Bug on board decides to do. I will not discuss induction or cervix softening methods until 41+0.

Induction and VBAC do not go well together. I would get your membranes swept first. That usually will kick anybody into labor. Or get your water broken. You have a greater risk of uterine rupture if you are medically induced.

Why are you inducing may I ask? How do you know you have low fluid? Aren't ultrasounds less reliable the further along you are in your pregnancy? Basing a date of induction off an estimation for your due date? What if your baby's lungs aren't done developing?
Have you asked your doc these questions? 
I don't mean to sound like a nervous Nelly, but I'm always suspicious of doctors who want babies out before they're ready.

Induction CAN be dangerous for a VBAC mom. Depending on your definition of dangerous. It increases your chance for uterine rupture. They synthetic chemicals aren't nearly as effective as the ones our bodies produce when baby is ready. It can lead to "stalled labor", a more painful labor, and a "failure to progress". 
If you've never been exposed to the drugs before you (or even your baby) could have a poor reaction to the drugs. 
And VBAC moms who are induced are more likely to have a repeat cesarean.
