Tips on losing weight before ttc?

My doctor thinks it may be a good idea but idk where to start,  any advice?  Please and thanks:)

Start moving, go on daily walks. Change your diet, cut out processed foods, eat a lot of green vegetables and lean protein. Drink a lot of water.

Download the "My Fitness Pal" app and you can keep track of your calorie intake, sugar, sodium, etc. I lost 26+ pounds with the help of the app.

Cutting back on sodium, sugar, and fat will help a lot. Cut out soft drinks and replace it with water. You'll see a significant difference and you will feel a lot better within a week of cutting out sodas.

You can also try taking a diuretic to lose extra water weight. I suggest taking less than recommended dosage on bottle because you will never leave the bathroom.

Set a calorie goal & track your diet using My Fitness Pal. (Never go below 1,200 calories / day) Take walking breaks (no less than 10 minutes at a time). Try to stand instead of sitting as often as you can. Make water your new favorite drink. Get your fruits & veggies in! Don't weigh more than once a week. Don't starve yourself, if you get hungry either a.) drink some water & wait 10-15 minutes (sometimes we think we are hungry when we are actually thirsty) or b.) snack on something health (fruit, veggies, nuts etc). Get on Pinterest & gather some healthy recipes, then prep your meals for the week (we often get rushed & reach for the quicker fix which is normally fast food)

Once you get in a regular walking routine, try jogging 30-60 seconds at a time. Interval training will burn more calories & be a little easier on your body)

Find something you enjoy doing. Walking, rollerblading, biking, etc. my hubby and I ride bikes or walk in our subdivision a few times a week and discuss our days and just talk. We also look at the houses for sale around our neighborhood just for fun.  It's nice because it's good for us and we can reconnect without interruptions (phones, TV, chores, etc) . :) After our walks or bike rides, we are more motivated to cook something healthy for dinner. It's my fave time of the day.

I don't think spending a bunch of money on programs and waleoght watchers is a good way to start. Let your body lose weight the way your body is meant to. Small changes make the biggest difference! I say start planning your meals throughout the day so there is no guess work or random cravings for the bad things! Walk for 30 minutes a day and see where you are in a week! It will motivate you to go further!

My doctor keeps telling me to join weight watchers but its kind of expensive.  I have been drinking protein shakes and walking during my lunch hour at work it helps.
