I say identical because when i was first pregnant with fraternal twins. There was a light colored line between the two babies indicating separate sacs

You can't tell 100% because their sacs could be really close together. I didn't find out till 13 weeks that I am having mo/di identicals. It's a long process of finding a membrane and how many placentas they have. Sometimes they look identical early but are not when looked at closer

Thats similar to mine at my 8w check. At 13 weeks they were able to confirm mo/di as they could see the membrane.

Have you found out mo/mo or mo/di by now?

Here's an easy way to tell the difference.. Here are my very clearly di/Di twins at 8+4 weeks.. You can see they clearly have their own sacs

That is just impossible to say from one US-photo. Out from this pic it looks like mo-mo twins, and if your doctor did not inform you of that (assuming this is real), you should really change doctors! Thats the type of twins that carry the most risk for the babies. Sharing a sack means they also could tangle their cords etc.

To determine what type of twins you are having, one needs to see many different angles to look for membranes and placentas.
