Positive tests and blood work but no Baby!!!

So I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive and yesterday I went to the er and took another pregnacy and did blood work and they both were positive saying I was pregnant but when the radiologist did a vaginal sonogram she didn't see the baby. My doctor said I could be in the early stages of my pregnancy to where your not going to see a baby. She also told me that back in April when I spotted the whole month off and on that I probably was having a miscarriage but she also told me to come back tomorrow so we could test my hormone level again.. And that if it goes up that I'm pregnant but I'm in the early stages and if it goes down that I had a miscarriage. I'm freaking out this is so weird I've never had this happen to me before.
