No dilation!?

I'm 40w + 3d pregnant. I'm fed up. I have been having contractions on and off since Thursday night, they will just start...then get heavier and frequent... And after about 2/3 hours they'll just completely stop. Today I was examined as my contractions were becoming unbearable, and apparently my cervix is still long, thick and closed! Will I ever have this baby? 😓😓

My OB told me today most babies are born a week after their due date.

I am currently 40w and had the same for last week... finally went in on Sat and they said I was 50% effaced 2/5 engaged and 1cm. Walking everywhere and having loads of tightenings but nothing progressing. Want this over with now.

Me too, honey! I'm overdue and In the exact same boat. Hang in there! My mother was the same way- went in for her 41 week appointment and was completely closed and not thinned, and she went into labor a few hours later :) there's hope!

I know how u feel I'm 39+5 and was examined yesterday baby hasn't engaged at all yet and cervix tightly closed no sign of baby coming soon 😭😭😭😭

PS: has anybody else experienced this before? And also, since the internal examination I keep getting a stinging sensation where my cervix is :( basically really bad lightening crotch!
