Period or implantation? 3 days late

I was suppose to start 3 days ago and have yet to start. This morning though when I went to the bathroom I noticed orangish color or spotting, (never seen orangish color before) . Then later in the afternoon I used the restroom and had bleed bright red like a period so I put a tanpon in. I just got home and used the restroom and now it's dark dark brown like I've ended my period.  I'm kind of confused.  Have you women experienced this or ever seen spotting orangish?
