Is there any single mom groups on here?

I'm 19 and trying to get pregnant. With no support for family and friends I was hoping to get some words of wisdom and much needed help on here.

Why are you trying to get pregnant just to be a single mom?!

No offense but you are really young to " try" and be a single mom. If you do that you will give away all your youth and freedom. Why do it on purpose? There are lots of guys that don't like dealing with someone else's "baby daddy" so why not wait for the right one, you have plenty of time!

I accidentally got pregnant at 18 and had my daughter when I was 19. It was so not what I was planning at that time. In some ways it is sorta like I threw my life away. If you want to go out and party or hang out with your peers, I hope you're ready to give that up. In many other ways, however, my daughter has brought me much joy. Having kids is beautiful and being able to raise a family is wonderful. But doing it alone? It sucks. You need to be able to pay for daycare and/or baby sitters for the rare instance your peers do ask you out, diapers cost a ton, not to mention health insurance and all other costs related. Would I change the fact that I have a daughter? No, not at all. She is the light of my life and has changed me in many positive ways. She is here, happy and healthy. I love her. But if I were to go back in time I would probably wait until I was older, married and in a truly steady, committed relationship with someone that I really loved. Kids are fun, but you have a whole lot of living left that needs to get done before you add a baby into the mix ☺

How about start with taking care of a dog before having a baby? Or become a nanny for a while so you get a hint of what it is like. That way you can
Save some money and get experience. Remember, just because you can get good rest being a nanny, doesn't mean the same is true when you are on call 24/7 as a mom. It sounds like the desire to take care of something is really strong. It is good to know what you are getting yourself into so why not try something more temporary first.

So you're only 19, single, and trying to get pregnant with no support from your friends and family? Surprise surprise. Lady, the last thing you need is a baby to take care of on your own. Especially if your worried about support. That's a good way to end up on welfare. Live your life and wait for the right man to come along. You should want a FAMILY. Not just a baby.

Sorry but seriously don't do this. Normally I'm pro choice in these decisions but seeing your last post about 'the best thing about being a single mum is being able to name the baby whatever you want' just shows you are SERIOUSLY too immature to have a baby! I'm not surprised you have no support from family and friends! Please consider talking to a professional about what is missing from your life to take such a drastic measure. Not be mention potentially trapping a poor man!
