What is a chemical pregnancy?

My husband's friend is a nurse and said that I was not really pregnant with my last 2 positive tests that turned negative. I asked her to explain how that could happen and she said it was just a chemical pregnancy and to not worry. They were a few months apart, and it was devastating.  What does all this mean? Was it an early miscarriage?

A chemical pregnancy us the name given to a pregnancy that cannot be verified by a visual test like an ultrasound. It can only be confirmed by a urine or blood test. The egg will have implanted because without implantation there would be no positive test! It just means you miscarried when what was going on was so tiny you couldn't see It on ultrasound. It definitely is a pregnancy
