Toxoplasmosis?

My cat keeps touching my lips with his paws when I'm sleeping. I wake up and his paw pads are right on my face and lips.....seriously this worries me. How would I even know since there are basically no signs and symptoms.....fml

I'm a veterinarian. I am pregnant myself and have 2 cats. They love to lay all over me. No worries there. Only thing you should completely avoid is the litter box. If it's an indoor cat I wouldn't worry about toxoplasmosis too much! Our door cats tend to pick it up, if it's outdoor your cat laying on you is fine but try to avoid their paws near your face, you could also wipe the paws with disinfectant they sell it at the pet store. If he is an indoor cat I wouldn't worry too much. I have two indoor cats and I haven't had any problems with my pregnancy so far 👍

If your cat has no access to raw meat, you have no need to fear anything from it. Now, gardening... that's where random outdoor cats might poop who've been hunting and eating raw animals.

Can't they test you for that with Bloodwork maybe?
