Baby Seat brands

My husband and I were looking at stroller/baby seat combo's today. Babies R Us had many brands and many prices we will probably register for a set between 2 and 3 hundred. I've heard of Graco and know they've been around for years but I've never heard of Baby Trend. This is our first baby so any ideas, comments, or insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks
