TOO MUCH SPIT UP!!!

My son is 1 month and he spits up CONSTANTLY! And it's always so much! Like someone literally took a cup of milk and spilled it on the floor. He can almost cover a burp cloth with it. And yesterday he choked and I couldn't sleep all night. I know spit up is  normal but this much is concerning.  I'm starting to get very worried. I called his doctor today to see what can be done about it and I'm waiting to hear back. He's a formula fed baby. Enfamil Newborn (blue label) Has anyone else had this problem with their baby or previous babies? HELP!
