Best breast pump??

Question

Hey ladies I'm looking for a breast pump recommendation. What do you use and why do you love/like/dislike it? I've checked with my insurance and they reimburse up to $350 on any kind/brand so I have flexibility. I don't want to go much over that but a little over $350 is fine. I am a FTM and I will be SAHM

I have a Hygeia Enjoye and I am very thankful I do! I had a low birthweight baby that wouldn't latch and have been exclusively pumping 8+ times a day, and my lactation consultant was relieved to hear I have this pump as it has great durability, warranty, and is a closed system pump. Closed system was important to me because no milk enters the tubing or comes in contact with the motor, so there is no risk of mold etc. it is also endorsed by Le Leche League. Parts can be a little harder to find so I bought an extra spare parts kit, and the flanges/hoses/t connectors are interchangeable with Medela. I am currently using Medela flanges, t connectors, and graduated cylinders with the hygeia tubing. Pump was around $225 I think, though I got it for free from my insurance.

I have the Medela pump in style advanced as well, but I'm currently using a Medela symphony from the hospital since my baby is in NICU. If you're renting, i LOOOOVE the symphony. My supply has built up great in 2 weeks, I'm getting nearly 10 oz each pump - which I do every 3 hours. I haven't used my pump in style advanced yet, but hopefully it can keep up with the symphony!

I absolutely recommend the Difrax pump! It's hands free (you can keep doing things such as holding your baby or reading etc), silent, has a lot of different speed options, and you can pump directly into bottles, plastic bags (that are especially designed to stand up in the refrigerator or freezer) and storing cups! It's a LIFESAVER. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

My ameda purely yours motor gave out after a few months. I don't like my medela pump in style advanced but it does the job. I have heard that spectra is great and it's a closed system so no milk in the tubes. That's what I miss about my ameda it never had water or milk in the tubes the medela always has water in the tubes that you have to get out. I would get a spectra s1 or s9, both of those have a battery pack. All of the spectras have a night light and a timer. I found out about the spectra too late. Look up Facebook breastfeeding groups and they will tell you how much they love it. Good luck momma.
