Prenatals when TTC???

Question

When taking Prenatals while TTC, does it matter what form you take it?? EX: my OB gave me these big a** horse pills that make me nauseas! So now i take gummies i found at Walgreens. Will i get the same results? Why is it important to take them do early if you're nit preggo yet??

My OB gave me horse pills too and there were two to take each day! I also switched to gummy ones since I have a hard time swallowing big pills. I'm thinking something is better than nothing. The reason they want you to take them while TTC is that you need folic acid (a big part of prenatal vitamins) very early on in pregnancy for spinal cord development. Most women likely won't get enough from diet alone and may not even know they are pregnant when they need it most. So it's easier to just recommend that you continue to take them all while TTC then to say start taking them from ovulation through this point in your cycle each month and then only continue if pregnant. I've also read that some of the vitamins just help prime your body to conceive but I'm not clear on those details.
