Can I help my baby gain weight?

I had a scan yesterday at 28+ weeks and the drs told me my baby is small and il need scans every 2 weeks now untill birth to monitor him and his grows :( is there anything I can do to help my baby gain weight and grow? I'm 5ft 140lbs ish so not skinny or underweight myself, any ideas? X

I've seen Dr's tell their patients to drink Ensure to help. Other than that I'm not sure, I would think carbs. My office said to watch carbs my last few weeks so he isnt big because he is gaining a half pound a day in the last few weeks.

Babies don't start gaining a lot of weight until the last 8-10 weeks so I'm sure he will catch up Hun ☺️

My baby's small for dates too, having more frequent scans but my doctor said there's not much I can do. He told me I may just make small babies and that they monitor to check that the placenta is still supplying nutrients and shouldn't need to intervene unless it stops.

From my research the best results come from making sure you are eating at least 80g of protein per day. Babies put on the most weight after 28w so now is the time to make sure you are hitting that mark everyday.

My dr told me to be cautious of how much milk I drank bc it could add onto the baby's weight.

How much does your baby weight?? Mine was 2lbs 11 oz when I was 28 weeks.. I don't think it matters how much you eat since the placenta is the one in charge of getting the nutrients to your baby..
