Sciatica?

Question

All of a sudden I started feeling a sharp pain from my lower back down my butt to my mid thigh on the right. It keeps coming and going but seems to be worse in certain positions. Is that sciatica pain possibly or something to see the doctor for? I'm also feeling nauseous.

Did everyone who had it get it treated by a chiropractor ? Did it go away without treatment ? I'm a dentist so I don't know if leaning over to do work triggered it but it happened suddenly and I could barely finish my day and drive home. At home now and laying in bed makes it go away but when I get up it hurts a lot. Should I see my ob? I wasn't planning to stop working till end of 8th month but I can't imagine working another day like this. To make it worse it's my right leg that I use for the rheostat when doing work.

I've had the same problem on my left side. I have started sleeping on my right side to take the pressure off my left sciatica nerve. It took a few days, but I have had no trouble since!!!!!!!

Went to doc that was available today because mine was off and she said just rest and stay off your feet. No specific recommendations. I asked about a chiropractor and she said it's not necessary. I'm also having terrible carpal tunnel syndrome. My hands both go numb throughout the night and it's painful. After the morning the numbness wears off but it still hurts all day. She said to wear a wrist brace for that. I have kaiser so apparently they are going to call me to get me fitted for one.

I had really bad sciatica pains for about 3 weeks right at the end of the school year (I'm a teacher). I think from bending over and moving things I irritated it. After school was over I took it easy- was careful how I bent over, sat down, and wAs really careful with how I picked things up. I also got a vibrating chair cover, it came with heat also and I would use that on and off. It has since gone away, still sore from time to time but NOTHING like it was. I heard massages are good also. I hope you feel better, it really is the worst pain. It would  stop me in my tracks and I wouldn't be able to move.

I have it pretty bad every few days. I'm 30 weeks and am in my feet all day at work. I found some online videos for prenatal yoga for sciatic pain. It definetly helps!

Yup!  Had it from 4 months with 2nd baby.  Go get a recommendation for a chiropractor from your OBGYN.  My chiropractor cleared it up immediately within a week, permanently in 2.5 months
