I need advice...

So AF is 4 days late today and this is the second day in a row that I have had occasional spotting of CM with tiny amounts rust colored spots of blood and AF is not here. I have had regular periods of about a year now and otc pregnancy tests are still coming up negative. I am suppose to start clomid on cd3 after AF starts. Was told not to count spotting as AF and not use it as start of cycle until my flow is more then spotting. How long should I wait until I contact my obgyn to see if I need Provera to jump start AF?
