When to mail out baby shower invites?

Family is hosting baby shower which is on August 8. I'm a little concerned because the invites haven't been sent out. When do you normally send out invites? I've always did 6 weeks before an event. I don't know if I should say anything but I'm worried they will be sent out too late.

My shower is on August 1 and I sent them out June 26, so almost 5 weeks out.

My shower is on July 25 and we sent out invites 5 weeks in advance. People from out of town got advance notice (8 weeks). We used paperless post online invites instead of paper.

Mine went out 8 weeks in advance because some people will be traveling from out of state and we wanted to give them as much time as possible to make arrangements :)

My first baby shower in May, they were sent out only 2-3 weeks beforehand and thank goodness I had a good turn out but it definitely made me nervous. We also made a Facebook event, well my Mom did, and that helped.
