Hair Breakage with heat...

Hey ladies!! I was wondering if anyone has stopped using heated hair appliances..cold turkey (ie..hair dryer..straightner ) and experienced good hair growth afterwards. My hair has become fried and is breaking from dying it and also from using a hair straightner everyday..because I have never liked my curly hair. I have every product under the sun..and nothing really made my curls look nice. Anyway I am heat free so far for one week today. Hair looks like a full blown disaster. Any tips? Hopeful to see some growth after a few weeks, I know it'll take some time!! Thanks!
