My rule is that it has to be a name that a President of the US or a judge would have. Something that people will take seriously on job and college applications and won't sound ridiculous on a grown man or woman.

Our kids names have to be more than one syllable. Also first name can't be shortened like Christopher to Chris kind of a thing. Our son in October will be Austin Michael.
