How do you crochet best?

Just wondering how you all prefer to crochet! I do a lot of free handing myself. But I steal ideas from youtube ;) I have a hard time reading patterns lol

I'm a pattern whore. I freehand just enough to alter the sizes on some patterns, mostly hats. Haven't tried my hand at garments or completely freehand projects.

I can't make heads or tails of patterns. I learn easier by seeing how it's done, and I'm not experienced enough for free hand yet!

I satrted with amigurumi book. I still use instructions. But now I find them online mostly.

I start with a Pinterest idea. Watch how to do it on YouTube..... then I wing it 😂

I started off with watching YouTube learning all the basics. Then as time goes by, I started learning to read patterns. Now I'm using both but mainly I prefer reading patterns.

YouTube when I was first learning. But I’m more advanced and prefer to read patterns because YouTube videos are too slow for me. Im like I already know how to do a slip knot and double crochets, I don’t need to see you show me slowly for 5 times, just hurry up and tell me the rest. 😂

Teach yourself to read patterns.  It is absolutely a game changer.  I made it my new years resolution one year.  Very good investment of time.

Written patterns for me, not tried anything with a graph pattern but I have a symbol chart for the stitches lol. To learn a new stitch I like to use the youtube videos because I need a visual aid sometimes.
