my boyfriend looked through my phone. "i don't look through your phone all the time" he said. so im assuming it's been more than once. im not really upset im just confused on why he had to do that because i never gave him a reason to. i asked him why he was so insecure and he said he wasn't. we don't do things like this. on top of that, he always claims he doesn't know my password, even tho i tell him a million times what it is, he obviously knows. i never in our 3 years that we've been together looked through his. now i feel like im obligated to. 😒 but i don't want to. that's just looking for trouble and i can't even get mad if i see something i don't like right?

Don't be mad that he looked through your phone. If you have nothing to hide, then don't worry about it 😊 my SO and I willingly give each other our phones whenever we ask haha relationships are founded on trust. However I do think he should ask first or let you know before he does it

Nah you can definitely get mad just because it's his phone doesn't mean he should be doing shady things on it if you've been in a 3 year relationship

Maybe you could look at it as a good thing. For whatever reason maybe he was a little insecure, which happens in relationships, But him looking through your phone made him feel better or falsified any worried thoughts he might have had. Yeah it's your phone, but if you don't have anything to hide why get mad? You should be able to share anything with him. And I wouldn't call it an obligation but if you wanted it would only be fair for him to let you look in his phone too.
