Crib bumpers-safe?

I'm a FTM and do not want to use crib bumpers. But my bf thinks they'll keep Baby from hitting his head when he turns over. Are these even safe?

As far as I am concerned, most of us had bumpers in our cribs and are here to tell the tale! I am using them in my cribs for my twins

Why take the risk? For several months they are too stationary to hit the crib rails or stick a limb out, and then soon after they are mobile the bumpers become a hazard because they help the baby climb out of the crib. My son would occasionally stick a leg out, but never got stuck or hurt on the crib rails. They can be cute, but with all the baby stuff to buy, why waste the added expense to use something dangerous and unnecessary?

I'm not buying crib bumpers for the baby. I don't want anything that increases chances of SIDS.

I used crib bumpers with my
Daughter and she's perfect. It's called SIDS because it's sudden infant death-we don't know what causes it. I will use them again- I have crazy sleepers.

But if your concerned they have these things called wonder bumpers-that
Go on each bar individually.

With my son I had the breathable mesh bumpers but never ended up using them. Honestly the head bumping was never an issue. I don't plan on using any with baby #2 either.

We are getting breathable ones, there is also risk of arms and legs being caught between the bars without using bumpers.

No they are definitely not safe. I wouldn't risk it.

Not safe. They do have breathe able ones that are a bit more pricey or you can skip the crib bumpers altogether.
