PCOS and life...
I'm 18, a lesbian, and I have PCOS. I've wanted kids for as long as I can remember, and my girlfriend and I agreed that once we're married we can start trying. My fear is that, since I have PCOS it's going to make everything harder (considering we don't have the advantage of just BDing whenever.) My Gyno is pretty positive I've never ovulated in my life, because when she sent me in for an ultrasound to look at my ovaries there wasn't even one cyst.
And, it's really expensive to have to try multiple times since I'd have to do IUI or IVF and the sperm itself is ridiculously expensive. It's not that money is a problem, because we're waiting until we have a fairly good savings. It's just that, I want to be the one to carry first, and since her periods are so light we aren't sure if she has fertility issues too or not.
We've also already considered adoption, (and we hope to at some point, but an older child.) So, we want to have a baby first. I'm just concerned that having PCOS on top of being a lesbian and not having that BD advantage, not being able to track my ovulation properly, a whole bunch of things are going to get in our way and keep us from having a baby.
