Studs/butch/dykes

Sorry if I offend anyone I'm just uneducated on the correct term to call a woman who is part of the community and dresses up like a man would. (Give me the correct term I'll edit) So, my question is, why do some women after being with men having children say they are "turning lesbian" after a bad breakup with a man? Nothing wrong with that part. But if they don't like men anymore why would they get with a woman who acts/dresses like a man? Sorry for sounding ignorant but I really have been wanting to get some answers on this.
