IUI w/o assisted meds?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now. He has testosterone issues and we were recommended to a RE. She recommended that I go for a HSG (this Tuesday) and will do an IUI this month after I ovulate. I see many people whom have done IUIs on here but it seems like everyone is taking meds/injections. Has anyone had any experience with an IUI w/out taking meds? Any success stories? :-)
