Birth Control Shot?

I need to decide which birth control to get on. I was on the pills but I could never remember to take them so I don't think it's best to continue with them. Only negative thing I heard about the shot is that it makes you gained a lot of weight. Can someone give me so advice on this.

Everyone reacts to things differently. I only had the shot once then switched back to the pill because it was so bad for me. I had no period for two months, then blead for an entire month straight. Cramps were worse and I always had headaches, so as soon as it was time for the second shot I told her to give me something else. But I have a friend who has been on it for a few years and had no adverse reactions. It all depends on the person and their body. Most side effects are the same for all hormone forms of BC because they have the same hormones in them.

Be very careful with the shot depo. It can cause your immune system to broken down by 70% making you highly at risk of infections and std's. Make sure you do enough research on the shot and what happens with withdrawal after....

I got the Depo shot for about a year. I didn't gain much weight but when I got off of it and switched to the pill, I noticed that my period had changed drastically. It also took my body a very long time to get back onto a cycle. The shot also changed my entire hormone balance. I was moody, I would break out constantly and it didn't feel right to only have my period every 3 months. I was scared to go on the pill because I thought I would forget to take it, but if you put it by your toothbrush, you'll never forget!!
