Cervical position during TWW

Any of you ladies check your CP in the days before AF is due?  I checking mine the day before I ovulated, and it was high, soft and open.  AF is due August 1, and today my CP is medium, mostly firm, and closed.  Just wondering if anyone has personal experience.  We are hoping to be pregnant 😕
