Any mommys done the NIPT test?!

Question

I have my 1st OB appt tomorrow & I was going to see about having them do the NIPT test while they draw blood since they are doing it anyways. But I've read they stick a needle through your uterus & collect DNA from the baby, which has a 1-3% miscarriage rate. It normally checks for Downs Syndrome but can also tell you the gender of your baby..
Have any of you mommys done it? Does it hurt? Is it safe?

I had NIPT. I am 35 and this is my first pregnancy, so my doc was pretty insistent. The wait was the longest wait of my life! My doc told me we'd have results in 4 days--it was 2 weeks! But everything came back negative. I would totally recommend, was easy and (pretty) painless!

Yes. I did the QNatal Test (quest's new version of the MaterniT21 test) at 12 weeks. Two vials of blood and about two weeks later we got great results and found out we're having a little bit. 
It's important, though, to remember that these do not give definitive answers about trisomies, only risk level. Even if a test comes back at high risk, the baby could be totally healthy. There are tons of articles out there about how important it is to not act on these results if they are positive, but docs don't always understand the limitations of the tests. 
In hindsight, since I knew we would t terminate no matter what, I would probably not have gone through the stress of the test... But now that we got good news, I'm definitely relieved.

I had the nuchal translucency scan with the harmony blood test to screen for downs and find out the gender- idk if its available where you live, but it's a less invasive screening. Had the test at 12w6d, should have results next week.
