Ovulation Test

Hi!! I have a question about an ovulation test. This past week I have been testing because my husband and I are Trying to conceive. I used the clear blue digital with the three different readings (not fertile, fertile, and peak). Using the glow ap I knew about the time I would be fertile so I started testing. It kept coming back not fertile until the 26th when it came back peak. Is it normal to go straight from not fertile one day to peak the next day? We had sex on the 26th but I was trying to plan to have sex on one of the fertile days as well and I feel like I missed my opportunity :( any advice is appreciated. TIA
