baby shower for first or all babies ?

My mother mentioned a baby shower is usually for your first baby only - is this correct ? I honestly have no idea - please help !

My mom didn't have a baby shower for me and when I found out I was upset. Only because a baby shower is a celebration of a new life for the world, you and your loved ones. All of our pregnancies should be celebrated in some way. Big or small. Doesn't have to be expensive just have to be joyful.

For my first baby, I had 4 different showers (church, work, friends and then my mom's friends.) But then my second baby, was only a year later and the same sex as the first, I just had a diaper shower at church. But for #3, which was a girl, we had a couple showers. Now, 6 years later with #4, I honestly don't expect a shower, but it's like starting all over because this one was unexpected and we have nothing! Lol!

I know the old rule was only the first baby but I think it's up to each person.  I think it's fun to celebrate each baby even if it's just something small for the later babies.  My daughter is 7 but this baby will be my husband's first.  My MIL wants to throw a big shower which is fine with me...I figure if anybody's offended by it they don't need to come

My kiddos are 10 yrs apart!! I never really got a shower for my son so hopefully I can have one this time around 😍

We only do big showers for our first babies but with the others we always do a small community shower because we just love the sweet babies!

I posted this - and I'm thinking maybe , since my daughter will be two years apart from the twins , I could have a diaper game and no other gifts besides stroller donations ? The triple stroller that would work best is like 1000 dollars - so maybe I'll cater and we can have fun and then yea . One game lol idk I'm brainstorming ...I don't even like baby shower games lol - does anyone ,really ?

Following etiquette rules, only for the first baby. However, my Sister in Law had triplets when her only other child was 14...they had a second shower. I think that situation is okay...
