U/S questions

So I saw my OBGYN for the first time when I was 12+3 weeks on Monday. I was so excited to see our baby and my husband even took off work. When we got there all they did was a doppler and PAP. I'm happy to hear the heart beat, mad they never told me the heart rate though. I asked about when my sonogram would be and they said not til I'm. 20 weeks to know the gender. I'm so disappointed and sad. Anyone have this problem?
