Too early to register?

Question

I'm 16 weeks, due January 19th. I'd like to start registering soon, because I will be insanely busy from weeks 20-24. Is now too early to register though? I'm concerned about things being out of stock by the time people actually start shopping in November/December, especially since I've already seen some things move in and out of my shopping cart at Target.com. Planning to register there and Babies R Us.

Just don't register for clothing.  You should be fine.

I started super early and just added stuff as I knew we needed it or someone advised me to get. You'd be surprised how early people start giving you stuff, so maintaining a registry the whole pregnancy actually made sense for me so I could mark things off or add as people gave us things.

I started a registry on Amazon because I live in a rural area. It's nice to be able to add things as you decide you need them. I'd bet any registry can be edited on line. I think doing it early is smart! Just don't share it with people until you feel like it has the stuff you really want on it.

Target is pretty bad a discontinuing things. I started there and the first 5 things I scanned said "limited avalibility" so I quit and went to babies r us. You will probably have better luck there of going early. You can always update your registry online as you go.

Honestly most people don't even look at registries. Go ahead and do it now. :) one less thing to worry about.
