What does loose stools have to do with labor?

I've been reading a lot about people saying loose stools mean labor is soon to come so now I'm nervous!

I'm 36 weeks as of tomorrow. I've been having diahrea (sorry, TMI) since yesterday. My baby has dropped like ALOT. And I am getting Braxton hicks, including some back contractions. Haven't lost mucus plug or anything.

What do u guys think? Am I just freaking myself out here? I am so not ready go baby to come yet 😳

I was always constipated with my first so I wouldn't say it's a sure sign

I had really loose stools the day I had my son. Happened starting at 10am and I had him at 11pm. It's your body's way of emptying everything out to prepare for delivery! Definitely get ready just incase :)

Honestly I've haven't had a solid poop since my 2nd trimester. 38 weeks now and no sign of baby. But typically, your body will empty itself out before the onset of labor. A lot of people will have diarrhea and/or vomiting beforehand.

Your body tends to clean out before labor.. But it doesn't mean it will happen that day but can be a sign that it is soon.

36 weeks on Monday and I've had loose stool for a few days. Lots of Braxton hicks and just the over all feeling of super heaviness. No sign of baby yet and I've never carried past 35 weeks with previous pregnancies so I'm hoping he stays put even though weights have been over 5 lbs at 35 and he feels at least like 6 already
