Trigger shot---when do I take HPT?

Hi everyone! I started clomid for the first time this cycle and also used a trigger shot (ovidrel). My opk was positive a few days earlier, so I'm not really sure when my period is supposed to come (Glow is to predicting Friday). I gave myself the trigger shot two weeks ago today, and I was wondering when I should test. Part of me is wanting to wait until AF, but the other (impatient) part can't wait, as we will be doing IUI this cycle if we don't get our BFP.

I took a hpt 12dpt and 14dpt. The 1st one was very faint the second one was darker. I have a good feeling it's for real. My beta is on Friday (17dpt). I'll keep you posted. I've seen ppl get their BFP 9dpt. I think I depends on your body. If you want you could test and then test a few days latter, see if it gets darker. Some ppl even test ever day after their tigger to see when the tigger is not in their system. Good luck & lots of baby dust.

My comment is kind of a downer... I was the exact same. I did a trigger with letrozole and if we didn't get a BFP we were going to start trying IUI for the first time the next cycle. I took a test on 10 dpo and will never do that again, I got a faint BFP. I was so excited but unsure it was real because of the ovidrel. I told my husband and he was all excited. Then I started my period early the next evening... Was pretty heart broken and at a baby shower planning meeting for another friend 💔. I am thinking it might have been a chemical pregnancy because my period came 3 days early and was super heavy. Who knows though. I recommend waiting until AF is due before you test, because of what happen to me. That false positive emotional roller coaster was worse than waiting for me. Won't do that again! Best of luck! Let me know if you do end up doing IUI because this will be my first as well... I am CD2 and would love to share the journey together!

I took mine at 12 days past trigger shot and it showed a positive.. Not before 12 dpts because it might be a false positive

I took a test this morning and got my first BFP ever. I'm a little apprehensive though. What are the chances it's still the trigger shot? I called my clinic this morning and left a message, and I'm hoping to get in soon.

I did the trigger shot after letrozole on July 31. My period is due Tuesday, Aug.18th. I stupidly took a test yesterday in the middle of the day which was 6 days before my period. Of course it was negative, bit my cervix this morning is way higher than usual week before my period and soft. Should I wait to test until period is due or just try again 1st urine of the morning 4 days out? I'm in same boat...I know I should wait but not patient enough. And does it really work this far out? My first pregnancy the line was barely there on day of due period!
