First appointment

My first pre natal appointment is this Friday. I'll be 8+1 and Im not sure what to expect. I told my husband it'll probably just be education and maybe an exam. I don't want him to take time away from work to just sit in a room with me, but I'm afraid he will miss something too. Help! I realize I could just call my doctors office, but you ladies seem to know best! :)
