Possibly an unusal question...

My cycle runs about 34 days each month, so does that mean I possibly ovulate later in my cycle then those who have a 28 day cycle? I'm just trying to figure this out, I took ovulation tests last month during my fertile window and they never came out positive, but later discovered I had a cyst rupture so that is why I had no positive ovulation test. I just started my ovulation tests this month, but I'm just wondering if I should have started sooner? Why does everything have to be so complicated...
