Drama with family over baby name
So all my life I've hated that no one really calls me by my full name, Jessica, they always shorten it to Jess, Jessie and I wish they would call me by my full name. So for my kids we tryed really hard to give them names that can not be shortened. Anyways we told one of my husbands sisters our 4th baby will be Alexander. First she's like oh" I don't like that name I'll be calling him Alex or Alejandro. Why do you guys keep chosen these "white" names you should be calling them "mexican names" I'm not the usual person who likes to argue with family. But I bursted. I told her, "it's my kid and I'm giving birth to him so I'm pretty sure I get to chose the name, second when you have your kids you can name them but for my kids please call them their whole name, not a nick name, not a name that sounds like his name, not a shortened name,!" I had never ever spoken to them like that and I think she was shoked.
Was I wrong? I'm just tired of the sister inlaw always judging. I get they have an opinion but at the end of the day it's our baby.
