I don't think it is about glorifying them, but about how good and respected they were in the hip hop industry. What they came from & what they became. They went down in history and are known widely. The movie is to tell their story!

I can't remember which one but a member of led Zeppelin kidnapped and held hostage a 14 year old girl for several years until she developed Stockholm syndrome and married him. And we glorify their music, heck I love led zepplin.
