Lyme disease and breastfeeding?

I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease at 14. Took antibiotics and no problems since. I'm 29 now and my SO and I are going to begin TTC in January  and I'm planning on breastfeeding. My mother mentioned my Lyme disease and asked if it would be okay to breastfeed and I can't seem to find much information one way or the other. Do any of you ladies have Lyme and know if it's okay to breastfeed with it?

I should clarify my sources since there is a bunch of misinformation in this thread. They include a lectures from a MD who is an infectious disease specialist with extensive experience with Lyme as well as a clinical reference used by doctors to guide evidence-based medicine. Here is the scoop: There is no evidence that Lyme can be transmitted by breastfeeding. Most cases of Lyme resolve completely with a course of antibiotics. While people can fail antibiotic therapy it is rare that they do. Late stage Lyme is not believed to be caused by ongoing infection. If you're worried you should talk to your doctor but please don't believe some of the stuff being posted here.

Unfortunately once you get Lyme disease you will never get rid of it. You may not show symptoms or only have them once in awhile, but you'll always have the disease in your system. I would check w the dr

It will be fine. I had lymes disease and was treated. If not caught early it affects muscles, joints ect....but since you were treated and haven't had any issue you should be fine.
