Post D&c and still waiting for AF

I was diagnosed with a Blighted ovum at the end of June. On July 17th I had to have a D&C. I stopped bleeding from the D&c about two weeks after the procedure. I'm now waiting for my period to start. I'm worried it won't start. I was very regular and in wondering what is done in the event that a period doesn't start. I was told to wait two cycles so I could have a nice strong place for baby to grow. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
