This is Tyke, an elephant who was a slave to the circus. Abused and neglected, he lashes out, escaped the circus, and was shot more than ten times before he died. Today is the anniversary of the violent death of this majestic being.

Rest in peace, Tyke. I'm so sorry for what we did to you. I'm so sorry you were taken. I'm so sorry your spirit was broken. I'm so sorry you had to perform stupid tricks. I'm so sorry you were beaten, misstreated, and abused. I'm sorry we didn't win the fight. I'm sorry they shot you and killed you. I'm sorry for the pain. Thank you for your life, sweet angel. We love you.
