Anybody an emt?

Is anybody an EMT on here? I just started my class today and I want some tips on how to really understand the chapters and how to keep myself ahead? Like tips on anything.

I was an EMT for 6 years.. It expired last year as I moved and never recertified the CME courses just didn't for to my schedule with my new life.. New job.. Etc. I adored being an EMT I miss it so much.. What helped me most was just hands on experience. I was fortunate enough to have 2 wonderful mentors when I started.. The workbooks helped.. Just pay great attention in class.. Making flash cards.. Reading your chapters are extremely important . most other students I was with only skimmed it to get the homework questions done and 80 percent of them failed . take your time and concentrate fully when reading the chapters... And good luck!! It's nice to have amazing people that help one another in a time of need.. Not many people understand how you can wake up at 3am to help a complete stranger.. But it's very rewarding..

Yes I am I got certified in June. What really helped me is learning the skills off the skill sheet early and going in after class and practicing. Also getting down vitals is super important too.
