I think he's just at that gawky going through puberty clumsy stage and just lost his balance.

Look at his feet. He didn't trip. To me, it looked like he did it purposely. For what reason, I don't know. Dumb, young teenager. At the same rate, with a painting that rare and precious and worth so much, more care should've been taken into keeping it safe. Like farther barriers, and hmm... NO FOOD OR DRINK! It's a piece of history and art that is irreplaceable and cannot be repaired. Maybe they will take better care of their assets especially when allowing them to travel.
