Are you open to being a stepparent?

Sorry my response will be long winded. Bear with me.... K so. My 4 year old is my ex-boyfriends son. I met my ex when his son was 22 months old. This boys mom has only seen him once since his 2nd birthday. My ex left her when the boy was 3 months old. She started using hard drugs after his birth and is addicted to meth and is in and out of jail and rehab (countless times) in the short time I was with my ex I fell in love with his kid. And now he's 4 and I'm married to someone else. I still see this boy every other weekend and I'm allowed to take him on trips and stuff. He calls me mom and I have a good relationship with his dad. And my husband loves this kid and supports what I'm doing with no hesitation. I call this boy my son but to sum up my relationship with him. I say step son but never in his presence. He is mine. I have cried for him. Disciplined him. Taught him things only a "parent" can. So yeah. I would be a step mom if the situation ever called for it.

I preferred men without children only because things were easier that way, in my experience, but I didn't have a problem with possibly being a step parent!! I think those are the best parents in the world. Stepping up to the plate someone else left on the table!! My fiance did it and he is daddy...he's not Brandon anymore!! :)

I am a step parent and I love my stepson with all my heart, he's my little man. Part of the reason I fell in love with my husband is because of what an incredible father he is. We just had our first child together and my stepson couldn't be more excited to be a big brother!

I've been with my fiancé since his daughter was 2 months old. She is going to be 4 in December. I wouldn't change it for the world. I love her like she is my own. Never had any problems with her mother either. She actually calls me "mom kristen" 😄

If it turned out my husband had kids I don't already know about, I would be super angry at that secret but I would absolutely love the kids no questions asked.

I'm stepmom to 3 amazing kids. I didn't think I would be able to cope with it because of the ex still being in the picture and such, but I was wrong. Their mom is now a friend of mine and is getting married soon. 
Being a stepparent is hard work. But these kids make it so easy to love them. They're smart, well mannered, funny, adorable little monkeys. I wouldn't trade the bond we have for anything in the world. They're a part of my husband, and I love him, which made it so much easier to love them.

I did not vote because none of those apply to me. Im married to my husband who has a son that we go visit a couple times a year, buys school clothes, send money, and extra money when they ask. I do not "parent" his child. Im his father's wife. Thats it.

I have a three year old with an ex who I was with for three years, we broke up when my daughter was one because he cheated on me.. I've been with my current partner for a year and he's never had a problem with my being a stepparent, we're living together and have been for three months and haven't had any problems or anything, he loves being able to be there for my little girl and look after her with me and he loves her like his own :) with me already having a daughter it made our decision to have children a lot easier as we know how we work together as parents and I'm now 6w 3d pregnant :)
