What does measuring big mean?

36 weeks today and doctor says I'm measuring big and not sure what that really means...anyone have experience with this?

Answer

I'm measuring small. It just means your belly is bigger than what they consider "normal" for that gestational week. It's really nothing to be concerned about unless it becomes 2 weeks +/- and consistent. Baby may have had a growth spurt, or is stretched out in a different position making you appear at a different gestational age than you are. If dr wasn't concerned, I wouldn't be either. I ended up getting a growth us done to check on baby's size. Because I was measuring 35 weeks at 37.
